Why Election Commissioner Arun Goel Resigned?

On Saturday late night Election Commissioner Arun Goel tendered his resignation, just days before the much- anticipated announcement of the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. President Droupadi Murmu officially accepted Mr Goel's resignation, effective immediately, according to a law ministry notification.

There are many things happening in independent India. When Supreme Court has to tell who will be the mayor of Chandigarh, then Election commissioner resigning is a small thing.

Thanks so much for the up dates. Now there is very serious doubts and suspicion about this whole Election commission Office. When all major democracies of the world have abolished the use of EVM machines why only India is so adamant on the use of these EVM machines. Further there are so many strong doubts about misuse of the these machines. In the first place there is no full answer as to what happened and why the 10 lakh excess EVM machines were manufactured and their accountability ??? The people have lost faith in the election commission. We want the use of ballot paper only !
