Basically, the amount of time it takes to prepare for a script in a video shoot may vary depending on the complexity and length of the script, the type of video being produced, and the resources available to the production team. However, in our case it didn’t take very long enough to finalize everything, as I was glad that our group had a great team work, which when we agreed to gather data for a script, we all cooperated. We obtained sources from online, case syllabus provided by our professor, and most of its contents were gathered from the Constitutional Law Book of Isagani Cruz and Carlo Cruz.

During the script preparation, every after class our team met a couple of times, and worked on developing the script, which included writing, revising, and finalizing the dialogue, creating storyboards, shot lists, and other visual aids to guide the production process. We also spent time in location scouting, casting, and other pre-production activities.

When the script was finalized, our team had to reschedule our shooting date as we had to adjust with our different schedules. We had a lot of re-takes and even spent a couple of hours for a 15-minute video. The camera used in shooting the video was a Sony Alpha A7 IV Mirrorless Digital Camera with 28-70mm Lens, and the microphone used was Boya BY-WM4 Pro K2 Portable 2.4G Wireless.

After our footage was captured, the editing process began, which entailed selecting the best shots, arranging them in a logical sequence, adding special effects, sound design, and music. The editing software utilized in editing these taken videos was Lumafusion and Canva. The background music was acquired from the YouTube Audio Library. It was actually Manuel Ordonio who did the editing, and there wasn’t any penny spent.

This project had provided the group with the opportunity to explore the complexities of video production, which has been an eye-opening experience. One must put up a lot of effort and pay close attention to every detail. After the output we realized, the important key points that we learned in the making of this video regarding Section 2, Article III of the Bill of Rights were the following:

First, a search warrant is generally required before any search or seizure can be conducted by law enforcement officials. The warrant must be issued by a judge or magistrate, and it must specify the place to be searched and the items to be seized.

Second, before a search warrant can be issued, there must be probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed, and that the items to be seized are connected to that crime. This means that law enforcement officials cannot conduct a search or seizure based on a hunch or suspicion alone.

Third, in some circumstances, warrantless searches and seizures may be permitted. These include searches incidental to a lawful arrest, searches during hot pursuit, and searches conducted in plain view of law enforcement officials.

Fourth, evidence obtained through illegal searches and seizures may be excluded from court proceedings under the exclusionary rule. This means that evidence obtained without a warrant or without probable cause may not be used against an accused in court.

Overall, search and seizure laws in the Philippines are designed to balance the needs of law enforcement with the rights of individuals. It is important for law enforcement officials to follow these laws and regulations to ensure that their actions are legal and fair.

From preparation to the final cut process of our video production, we realized that this a great chance for a newbie as it can be a fun and rewarding experience that offered us benefits. It allowed us to express ourselves creatively and develop new skills that can benefit us in different areas of our lives especially speaking in public. We also realized that if we are not well-versed in speaking like what we did in the video, we would have difficulty connecting with our audience. We will also struggle to read body language and respond appropriately, which can make it difficult to engage the audience and keep their attention.

Thus, we should learn to practice this skill in speaking in public, but to be candid, this was a great challenge for us to strive harder in our next video. Above all, without teamwork, we wouldn’t be able to finish this. Such a job well done so far for newbies like us!

Last year (2022), I learned in the Legal Educators Certification Program, sponsored by the Legal Education Board and the UP College of Law, that law school should not be boring. It must be dynamic. Legal education should be student-centered, collaborative, and fun! Thus, instead of requiring case digests (which I had been doing for the past 16 years), I grouped my Consti II class into 10. Specific topics were drawn for each group to discuss in a recorded video. This is the 1st of the two (2) videos that the students have to submit this semester, which will comprise 25% of their Final Grade. Although the project is a group effort, the students will be graded individually with the following criteria: Content (25%), Creativity (25%), Delivery (25%), and Engagement (25%). I did not expect that my students would be this creative, engaging, and innovative! Who said that law school is all reading, studying, and boring? By making group videos, the future lawyers learn how to be collaborative, creative, and have fun while in law school! Keep up the good work, everyone!! Godspeed, and welcome to Mann's World!!! ❤⚖

One of my favorite section in Art. III of The 1987 Constitution, fun to memorize.
As previously discussed in the class, in the case of Calleja vs. Court of Appeals, a lot of constitutional provisions was laid down, including Sec 2 Art. III and it's interesting how the requisites of a valid warrant was imbedded.
Thank you Irish, Manu and Castillon for giving your best to be comprehensive, this will surely help the next batch. 💪

The video's purpose is stated clearly. Although the law students cannot keep an eye contact, it's okay.
