AMD's CEO on Earnings, AI, Roadmap

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. CEO Lisa Su says she's very happy with the growth they saw in the second quarter. The chipmaker gave an upbeat revenue outlook and raised its forecast for so-called AI accelerators — chips used to develop artificial intelligence models. Su talked about all of this with Ed Ludlow on "Bloomberg Technology."

I hope this is the turning point that AI will help the advancement of human livability in general. For example, in the field of medicine, let's hope AI will help accelerate doctors and the industry as a whole to finally cure cancer, dreaded diseases and also those individuals that are physically challenged (e.g., blindness, Alzheimer's, hearing). But of course any kind of advancements in any field or industry will be a labeled a disruptor. And with these kinds of disruptors, our governments and committees will certainly be the first line of defense the delay it's full deployment. That's the most exciting side of it, who will prevail and who will be comply.

By the way, Ms Lisa Su's comment of "this is the war of talents" which is for me, this shows her commitment that a company's talent pool is the main driver to push their products to it's absolute limit, in order for them to deliver the true value and usability of their product across any industry.

Amd allows you to upgrade, its that simple. Their chipsets allow you to upgrade when you need it, the support is long enough too.

It’s not consistent in its earnings and revenue - too cyclical but good luck to those that will go with it!

If there is a large demand why isn't AMD able to get supply in place. AMD gives an improved forecast but Nvidia is many orders larger than AMD even while AMD have devices with more memory.
