Acute myelopathy can be caused by inflammatory and vascular disorders. The prototypical example of an acute vascular myelopathy is spinal cord infarction. The DDx of inflammatory acute myelopathies is more broad and encompasses demyelinating (MS, NMOSD, ADEM, MOGAD), (para-)infectous, systemic autoimmune and other diseases.

0:00 - DDx of acute myelopathy
2:31 - Multiple Sclerosis
7:44 - Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD)
14:28 - Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM)
20:15 - MOG-antibody associated disease (MOGAD)
24:30 - Infectious and parainfectous myelitis
30:37 - Myelitis in systemic auto-immune disease (Lupus, Sjögren, sarcoid...)
36:12 - Idiopathic acute transverse myelitis
