This thermoelectric cooler otherwise know as a pelite cooler made my phone faster!
In this video we take a look at powered phone coolers and see just what they can do and if they add any extra performance to your android phone.
With my Galaxy S21 plus this actually worked and worked very well adding 100k + points to my Antutu score and it also helped out a lot with gaming for long periods of time.

When I play fortnite mobile on dex on my monitor, I just place the phone on a frozen bag of green beans and boom! Maximum performance😂🥶

This type of cooler actually really helps when playing games on smartphone. Before this i actually play genshin impact on my phone and after 30 minutes or so it started lagging. After that, i went and bought the blackshark funcooler pro and now i can play genshin impact on my phone without so much lagging. It does lag sometimes but very rarely, but without the cooler, it lags so much.

Thanks ETA! With all the gaming and streaming we do with the phones, these little devices just make sense.

Did an experiment a while ago with my Galaxy S6 edge, which was overheating a lot.

Took the CPU fan with heatsink from our broken old computer, cleaned it, and simply placed it on top my phone which I placed face down. Used Samsung Flow to control the phone, connected to PC via USB. The fan was powered by a 12V adaptor.

I was surprised because the phone actually retained or even gained some charge albeit very slowly. Normally, the battery would just drain. I never got an overheating warning despite running multiple demanding tasks.

I ran some benchmarks both with and without the fan+heatsink for control. The result was indisputable. With the fan, the phone never throttled. The heatsink did its job and the phone remained cool to the touch. Without the fan, the scores severely dropped on 2nd and 3rd runs then just throttled. Even got the overheating warning. I repeated the whole thing, but started without the fan first and the result was the same.

Might try to do the experiment again, but with Galaxy S8 and S10 running DeX. Been planning to get a proper cooler with peltier. Just waiting for a good deal.

Was on the fence about getting one of these, glad it was tested. And it also happened to be the same phone, I use the S21.

Thanks ETAPrime!

This is really cool. It would be awesome if there was a phone case with a peltier cooler that was also compact

Hey ETA, just a request. Can you try this cooler on the liva ryzen mini pc you reviewed earlier?

This device would make a lot of sense built into a tablet stand or phone stand.

I just got one of these thermoelectric coolers to experiment with my PinePhone Pro. I've been experimenting with PC game emulation using box86/64 and was playing Half Life 2. It would run well for a minute or two and then start lagging very hard, the RK3399S throttles at 70 degrees C. I cut a thermal pad to fit on the exposed modem shield with the cover off and then clipped the TEC cooler to touch the thermal pad. HUGE difference. Half Life 2 runs pretty well, though still dips sometimes but I can see the clocks and temps are still OK. I am now experimenting with overvolting the cooler to see if I can get more cooling performance out of it, because the PinePhone Pro's back case is designed to insulate your hand from the internal heat which isn't good for trying to cool the CPU through it. Hopefully we can make a replacement back cover that has a metal plate for cooling.

Should have compared temps of both coolers on the s21 after benchmark and results. Great video!

i once strapped a peltier to my HTC One M9 with that Extra hot Snapdragon 810 which was Overclocked - with cooling the Phone Actually managed to beat a much newer Huawei Device (i think the P20 Pro or something) CPU temps of -5C while benchmarking

Samsung has a low throttle limit, about 42-43C. After that it throttles, so not recommended for gaming. Xiaomi and the whole BBK group phones have a much higher throttle limit at about 50C.

I’ve been wanting something like this. The ambient temperature in Arizona is too hot to use any phone without it overheating. I have a work-issued iPhone 12 Pro to take pictures at construction sites and half the time I have to hold my phone up to the AC vent in my truck after a few pictures.

I use a cooler with my poco x3 pro and it is a boon to me, I can play COD mobile all day long lying down in my bedroom. This type of cooler is really useful and they work like a charm. Mobile cooler is a must have for mobile gamers, just like a good earpiece is.

I can't wait to see a phone controller with a built in cooler like this!

Yes i use this on my Mi10T Pro, i run 3D Mark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test and without a cooler i get 99.3% performance stability vs 99.7% with a cooler. There is not much difference in terms of performance because Mi10T Pro is already a very stable performance phone and it has a very great cooling system but it really helps to cool the phone down outside and make it comfortable to hold.

Oh my god, thank you! I've been curious and skeptical about these coolers. Considering i have a garbage phone that has been overheating since day one, maybe this will keep it from melting slightly longer.

I live in AZ and my iPhone shuts down due to heat whenever I go for a drive. I wanted to know which of the two coolers I should get.
