The thing I love about this channel is that it breaks American homogeny in music and propels people (me for sure) to learn about others musical culture more. Never before I'd bought a record without knowing precisely what I was buying. Now, especially after Japanese music videos I buy records from other countries randomly and let them surprise me once I'm home.

Some where a European is getting a tan at a rooftop pool deck in Bangkok listening to a Japanese DJ playing Russian jazz and reading comments such as "can you make a Pakistanis mix."

It would be cool if you did a session that focused on a musical genre and time period. Then you picked albums from across multiple countries, just to see side by side the cultural differences and impact on music. It would be like stepping into a time machine and traveling the world in one session.

The sign «Мелодия» in central part of vinyls means Melody. It was one and only music label in The Soviet Union for a long time.

I love it. Jazz is the universal language. No matter where it's played. Listeners can tap their feet and keep the beat. Russians have soul. спасиба

Imagine being this guy's neighbor. I'd love to spend afternoons with a book and muted jazz music resonating from my walls.

The USSR had some outstanding jazz! Sadly almost unheard of in the US.
