Thanks much for this. Just incredible performance. Simply mind-blowing vocals. Nobody had any more powerful of a voice. "Gloria" is one of my all-time favorite songs. She looks so gorgeous in that video. Laura was big when I was junior in High-School 1982-83. There was not a single guy in the 11 grade that wasn't completely smitten with her. Including me. She was a very beautiful woman. Stunning. Admittedly, I was mostly a Country music fan, not so much pop growing up and as a young adult. Because that's what my Mom and dad listened to mostly. So Crystal Gayle, Juice Newton, Silva, Charly McClain, Marie Osmond, Holly Dunn and a little later, Suzy Bogguss, Kelly Willis and especially Lari White were my girls. Was so in love with Lari. Another vastly underrated talent gone to soon. I loved to see her music reacted to on this channel and others. She is being inducted into the Woman Song Writers Hall of Fame on June 22nd. However, on the pop side Abba, Sheena Easton, Oliva Newton John, The Bangles (Oh man, Suzzanna Hoffs!) and Lara Brannigan were among the rare exceptions. Although Crystal and Juice were of course pretty big crossover artists. Wasn't really interested in the other version of this ballad, "The Power Of Love" will always be a Laura Branigan song to me. Can't imagine anyone topping her.

One of the biggest power ballads of the time. Laura had such a powerful voice, I think hers was one of the standouts of the 80's.

My favourite of hers is Self Control, and still listen to this day. A classic 80's dance song!

Nobody has performed this song the way LB sang it. It was so terribly sad when we lost her to an aneurysm. There were some great female vocalists back in the 80s. Laura Brannigan, Sheena Easton, Janet Jackson, to name a few.

Thanks again for reacting to my request. Laura was sadly underrated but she did have a bunch of hits such as this one. She was starting to record a new album around 2002 but sadly passed away in 2004 from a brain aneurysm.
