Buckling stucco in front of the home.
Repair structural cracks in stucco.
Stucco is cracking at the front of your house.

Folks, if your lower wall sides are buckling, which is more common than the front, these same skills still apply.

For immediate bids, send pictures to Jay or myself at our sites below.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. In this video, we are doing some stucco structural maintenance by repairing this unsightly buckling stucco at the front of this home,
I was asked my opinion of what to do, tear it all off, or repair it as best as possible. So, naturally, I said to hire a GC, tear it all off, rebuild the foundation, reconstruct the wood wall, then re-stucco. He said I can’t afford that work. What is another option?
In this video, we show the alternative option.

And that is what I’m doing, a temporary repair.
The concrete foundation is separated from the stucco wall or substrate.
Which of becoming wider each season because it’s allowing rainwater intrusion.
We, like others, are only as good as what we have to work with.

What we’re doing can be made to look good for quite a while.
Perhaps even ten or twenty years or more, it is quite possible.
The work depends on the amount of ground movement, not my corrections.

Repairs like this make my day, as they often require a lot of stucco knowledge to correct this structural difference. It definitely makes the repair I’m doing much more enjoyable.

Keep the cracks caulked to prevent rainwater from entering. Unfortunately, more water enters each season, which is not good, so take some time out and caulk those cracks.
Movement or vibrations to stucco or concrete are not good, but they are typical.
Often, hairline or large stress cracks occur due to settling.
With stucco, the slightest movement and or vibrations cause hairline cracks.
Often this does not affect the integrity of the waterproofing membrane. However, when allowed to get to this stage, it’s either tear into the wall and correct it all or do the best to prevent future water intrusion and help it look as decent as possible because it is still in the front of your house.
Remember, any stucco home movement is like Kryptonite to Superman, which is not good.
But it's completely normal.

We were using a Portland-based stucco with three times the sand for every one part of Portland cement. I added Lumnite to accelerate the stucco.
As a topcoat, we used a La Habra finish coat that matches the texture as closely as possible.

More buckling cement stucco repairs.

Thanks for watching.

Ive watched about 200 videos from the giordano plastering tutorials. Im a painter by trade. I moved from the midwest where stucco just hasnt been done. These videos have been a lifeline to remain profitable. I wouldnt call myself a true plaster, but i have some hours behind the trowel now, and all the stuff ive learned from this channel i put to use daily.

The giordano plastering bible is one of the best series on youtube.

Man, im just a "little" guy trying to make a living since all this covid crap and i have to thank you because without your teachings i would never be able to do any of this. All the other videos i watch are half ass and full of misguided direction. You have a unique ability to truly teach, and for that i am eternally greatfull. God bless you and yours.

I have watched your videos for a couple of years now. Always impressed. I have tried some simple repairs. You make it look easy. Very grateful for your content. This video is a short clip but it is so demonstrates your skill that even the casual fan can see your ability. I personally think you have advanced your craft many times over. A big freaking, high piled, hawk full of help and knowledge you have freely handed off to the public. I hope your family benefits and receives the same blessings. You have taught your viewers what to look for. showed us how much skill and passion comes with a true pro. I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Before I wouldn't have had a clue.

Super helpful. I recently removed a balcony with rails that were attached to the stucco. It left a couple of large holes in the surface stucco that I need to repair before I put in my new railing. Your videos are superb and easy for anybody to understand. I only hope mine comes out half as good as yours. Thanks Kirk. Appreciate the tutorial. Will buy some stuff from your Amazon affiliate link to show my gratitude.

Hey Kirk I love your videos because you explain what you are doing. You impress the hell out of me because I don't have your knowledge but I'm Learning. Ignore those that criticise your method of teaching us novices how it's done.

It such a pleasure to watch a master in any trade. Your videos are teaching me some really cool skills. I'm restoring a storybook style house with a big stucco chimney and I couldn't have done it without you! It was so amazing how you matched the texture in that last video
