Gotta love a Jazz Bass. I've had my Deluxe Active for nearly 20 years!

RUSH was my favorite band since 1975. I got to see every concert tour until they retired in 2015 👍.

Sounds awesome! Look forward to hearing you dive into the Wal era especially- Power Windows & Hold Your Fire are two records that have some of my favorite playing from Geddy's incredible career

You lay out a selection of basses and almost every time I will be drawn to the Steinberger.

Against all convention I am drawn to the Steinberger. I don't play bass but I want one. F*&k it, I'm onto Ebay and see what I can find!

Cool fact: Ged's Steinberger from GUP and the PoW tour is the only stage used bass he actually got rid of - he traded it away

👋 Scott, have you done a review of Alejandra Villareal bass player of The Warning, phenomenal band, she plays so solid with great feel and tone. Finger style and pick. Already a rising star 🌟

That 'but let's zoom in' came out so menacingly😭... gave me Deadpool vibes

He always had an old jazz bass but didn't decide to use it until recording Moving Pictures. Interesting that when he customised the jazz he ended up making it sound like the Ricky! Hence people's confusion with Tom Sawyer (although using the Ricky in the video only added to the confusion). 😊

Bass nerd question on the Steinberger: what EMG's did they use in those?

Had an L2 for a few months but sold it - it had no soul.

His tone in the Steinberger and Wal era on record don’t fully capture the way those things sounded live.

I can see how he went to SansAmp & iem, especially as a singer, BUT - Do the older amp tones sound better? To me, they seem to. All the covers with thin, gritty tones seem to leave out the low end.
