Bobcat Vs. Squirrel!

Only in Florida - This video shows a squirrel narrowly escape death by bobcat on a screened-in patio in Florida earlier this week.

Now this is mighty interesting. Back in the 80s, as a child, my old man pointed me to the tv documentary on at that moment, "notice that!" they did a lil experiment, they put a mouse, and then a cat, on a glass surface that was half laying on wood and half protruding in the air. The mouse was crazy and uncautious, and ran here and there all over the glass. But the cat then, took care of every single step he was making, and once near the glass hanging in the air, he maybe tested it a bit but didnt go further. Now, only now, many years later, after some bad turns in some risky (but courageous) job choices i made, that documentary popped up again in my mind and... i wish i'd taken that lesson, back then. Be wise like a cat. Don't take risky steps (even if the glass will technically back you up still) Let that be a good lesson unto you all. PS. Now with this bobcat walking on the glass, all is uncertain again lol (but he loses in the end, so...) Be like the cat... not like the bobcat hehe (wonderful creature though! Just chatting...)

Notice the little squeaky noise the bobcat makes at the end ? A rough translation is, " there will be other times brother !"

Bobcats have a hard time catching squirrels. Hope someone can post a video of a bobcat catching and eating a squirrel in the near future.

This bobcats looks young and still a bit inexperimented. Usually a bobcat - squirrel encounter almost always ends bad for the squirrel.

How did the bobcat get up there in the first place?

About one-third of predator-prey encounters end up with the prey escaping, I've read, so this is not unusual. The exception is with the stout / weasel, which once it gets a bead on its prey, almost never fails to hunt it down.

Wild animals like bobcats do not come close to humans with out good reason. That animals has lost his habit and food sources maybe to do what he just did.
