I’ve been following you for a couple years. You’re always very inspiring. I didn’t wrestle in high school, but have totally turned into a “wrestling dad”. My boy started wrestling as first grader also. He has always been decent, usually wrestling for 3 and 4 at tournaments, but not bringing home any hardware until his 7th grade year when he placed at every tournament we went to. He wrestled jr high and then was invited to practice with the high school team. His growth has been incredible. Wrestling may be an individual sport, but it takes a village. Especially for youth wrestlers, win or lose that support needs to be there. Seeing his confidence (a bit cocky at times) grow after last season has been so great. Keep doing what you’re doing!

I’m a freshman, this was my first wrestling season, here’s a recap:
I started the season off on a losing streak, losing 4 straight matches in a row. I almost lost my motivation because I had others talking about winning states, and I was 0-4. I wasn’t in a great headspace but then I found your videos. They helped me get back on track, and now, my record is 8-10 which is great improvement. But most importantly, my confidence is at an all time high and I’m gonna aim for states next season

I truly do appreciate all of this, it’s my first year wrestling and I’m a sophomore starting off pretty heavy and your videos have kept me interested and motivated to continue going to practices and excited for the season to start, much love 💪💪

Point 2 is such a great thing for young wrestlers to understand. If you have one leg shot that you can do correctly every single time, almost no one will stop your takedowns. If you can bridge properly, almost no one can pin you. If you have one turn combination that you've drilled over and over, it's going to work on almost everyone. You don't have to get fancy.

I fear not the man who has practiced 10, 000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10, 000 times. -Bruce Lee

You should make a video on the gear you recommend for beginning wrestlers or the gear you use currently.

My goal since I first started wrestling my freshmen year, was to get on my school podium, I wanted to go to states, I wasn’t sure if I could do it since I lack so much experience compared to others but my Junior year I qualified however didn’t place and guess what didn’t realize my goal. I wanted to be known for something or at least recognized. I’ve lost a lot of motivation throughout the years, I’ve lost to freshmen in high school as a junior and that’s been a huge blow to my mentality. I’m now a senior in high school, and now I’m looking back on my mistakes. I’m watching my old videos and I’m realizing while even watching my current matches.

I always feel compared myself to people I knew where good, TJ Daughtery, RBY, Spencer Lee. I always wanted to be like then and I always compared myself to them. These are the mistakes I recognized.

1.) Comparing yourself to someone, it’s always good to set someone above you THAT YOU WANT TO surpass, someone you want to surpass. However you’re your own wrestler, so wrestle how you want to wrestle. Don’t try and copy someone just cause they found success in it.

2.) Take care of your body, just cause you won one match you think it changed anything? No you still have to work hard, you body is important, don’t pig out. Have discipline.

3.) For the love of god, it is okay to be nervous, even if it’s a national champion, it’s okay to be nervous, to me it puts me on the edge, someone who beat me in the past my Junior year I am going against at counties, I’m nervous, of course, however I’m mentally prepared, I’m watching my old videos on hudl noticing what I can do different and his habits and I’m confident I can win if not I can sure as hell give him a run for his money. However these are just things I’ve found, I wouldn’t recommend listening to me to much since again I’m not the most experience but always keep these 3 things in mind, nice video man.

Edit: Notice how all 3 of these things have one thing in common, mentality.
