Same old story for the politicians. Put the money into infrastructure instead of your pockets. Enforce contracts of companies working for the city to ensure they do their jobs.

I live in the beaches in Torontos east side. Around Queen/Woodbine. We didn’t even get a drop of rain. Lake effect

Thats not a historic storm! Thats a failure in Toronto's dwindling infrastructure

Where media hype is concerned every storm is historic.

Time to repair and upgrade your crumbling infrastructure, Trawna. Maybe clean it out for the first time in 50 years. If you keep paving everything, that runoff has nowhere to go. A couple of years ago you were moaning about “record” low water levels in the Great Lakes. Make up your tiny minds.

I’m from Montreal, this summer is very wet all across Canada 🥴

Some people just have a hard time understanding that “the most amount of rain in a day recorded” is a big deal and no infrastructure can be prepared to handle that volume of water. Flood will happen….it’s how quick the water disappears, and it went away fast….within an hour or two the streets were clear of water. It means the system works….

I question the people who are constantly writing weird comments on here. Like what exactly are your actual motives?

I was in that storm. The reason it changed to flooding is because whoever is under contract to clear the storm catch basins are NOT doing their jobs.
The old debris that has accumulated on the sides of the roads all played a role in blocking the water from draining.
We need to insist that these companies are looked into to make sure they are doing their jobs.

This issue is happening more frequently because the infrastructure isn't managed properly.

I noticed a few guys near where I live making sure the sewer drains were cleared of debris before a few of the storms. Good on them for helping out.

We need just housing in the cities dont need other things linked to the problem with density of population... Thankful to nature for reminding to the leaders..

Storm? Thats no storm! but I am surprised the drizzles flooded Toronto. Just bad infrastructure. The roads here in Richmond Hill are so horrible.

Why was there false radar information for this area in your mobile app yesterday? The app radar showed none of what you showed in this report?

I understand that this is a major news story as it effects millions of people in such a densely populated area, but when the same weather hits other parts of Canada, it’s rarely mentioned and gathers very little attention by TWN.

In Canada we find out about hurricanes and storms AFTER they happen.
