Niños Héroes - Promo 01 (2015)

Показать описание
From the 1st to the 28th of May 2015 the Fabrica Features space in Lisbon will host “Niños Héroes”, an exhibition dedicated to child heroes by Tomás Pichardo, an animator and illustrator from the Dominican Republic working in the Fabrica Social Campaigns Area.
Niños Héroes is a series of seven drawings made on cardboard boxes, each of them telling the real story of extraordinary children who, despite their very young age, are aware of what is right and what it wrong in the world and fight for it against all odds.
Like Iqbal Masih, a child hero that, after having risked his life to escape from slavery, rescued many other kids until he was murdered. Or a young girl, who prefers to be anonymous, who is trying to study and get an education in an environment with no electrical power or light. The drawing titled “Broken shoes” describes instead the gap between the reality some children live in and their inner dreams and imagination.
Launched in 2001 on the top of a Benetton Megastore in Chiado, Fabrica Features Lisboa is a platform for ethnic, media and artistic diversity. Placed right in the hearth of the city, it is a space of meeting and interchange between local and foreign artists and international brands.
