As a Scotsmen I can say that accent is genuinely about as good as I've heard ESPECIALLY from an American. Very impressed

It definitely should have been a mini series instead of a TV movie. The story of Robert de Bruce is so fascinating.

How Chris Pine hasn't won an Oscar yet is beyond me.
He blends into his roles really well.

FFS, as a Scotsman, this is what Braveheart should have been with historical accuracy. Still, it moves me emotionally as a Scot. I cannot wait for it.

Wow a medieval movie without leather armor and with historically accurate weapons? Even if this movie sucks I'll give it points for not being a fantasy movie with a real person slapped onto it.

The Black Douglas was a god damn savage. My favorite character in this movie.

Fun fact: If I'm not mistaken, Robert the Bruce and Mad Anthony Wayne were two individuals whose names were used to create the secret identity to one of DC Comics' most popular characters. Batman aka Bruce Wayne.

I'm always amazed at how Chris Pine can completely transform himself in different roles. So here for this! Hell or High water was amazing

Just saw the movie and I think one of the best historical films ever made. Stephen Dillane is FANTASTIC as King Edward. Armor and clothing was insanely good. Opening sparring scene was excellent.

Let's see, no standard uniforms for the benefit of the audience, and nary a kilt or drop of blue paint in sight. Historical accuracy, thank you Jesus!

From a historical perspective it looks bang on; fleeing to the west by boat, a broken and defeated man, to reflect and ponder his next move, then returning to take the country back castle by castle with hit-and-run guerilla warfare - Bruce was usually first up the rope ladder in raids. So, all of that is encouraging.

Mercenary, usurper, politician and warrior, Bruce was all that and more, and he has always been an infinitely more interesting and complex character than William Wallace. For all his patriotic bluster Wallace changed nothing. Bruce, one of the most scheming, intelligent, bravest, and meanest men of his era changed everything... and he gave Scotland her independence.

It is about time our great warrior king received a dramatic interpretation to redress the shameful characterisation of him in the execrable 'Braveheart'.
