Just because you don't have the "best" tool and products doesn't mean you can't get amazing results or make money.

As a detailer, you should focus on delivering the best results you can with the tools you have.

Does a Rupes perform better than a Harbour Freight polisher? Probably so, but you can still do a 2-step correction and get amazing results.

You're hired for the results, not the type of tools you have.

In our van, we have a $3, 800 extractor setup and it gets us great results. But I was also getting great results when I had a $400 extractor.

It's about your skills, experience, and knowledge of what you're working on that gets you the results you want.

I posted a longer video on my YouTube channel covering this topic.

What do you think?

I started 2 week ago with just providing 2 services and now I have 5-6 clients a week. Not much but it's a start

100%
when i first started i used a $100 rotary polisher to do boats.. i made over 10grand off that polisher an honestly i still got it as a emergency back up. but that polisher paid for almost every other tool i have now.

Hey brother. thanks for all your tips. I’m starting my business and watching your videos to help me make minimal mistakes! I’m already booking 5-10 cars a week. Can’t wait to expand and grow and really master my craft. Thanks Oscar!!

amen. just practice safe methods and take your time on what needs time. keep your mitts and towels clean and you'll be fine with whatever products you use.

Been watching along time and you’ve definitely helped me out along the way, started with a couple tubs, 100 dollars worth of cleaner, 90 dollar Ryobi pressure washer and some towels. Upgraded a lot within these last few months but now I have all the equipment I need. All it really takes is to get out there and do it, to retain customers make sure you’re customer service is A1 and be honest w them

Love this post brother, I follow you online, I've recently started my own and I don't have the best or brand new everything, but I put time energy and effort into each job, and the work speaks for itself, and a satisfied customer is worth more than a one time payment for a job. Loving this work

This advice is true for a lot of other fields too. Best way to get started is to get started!

Excellent advice! And the less product choices you have the better. Especially if you have employees. You have the skill, set up an SOP so you'll be consistent and efficient. Then most importantly listen to what your customer wants vs your own ego. You'll become better as you go, you'll become profitable and grow

People recognize a job well done, the effort and the passion that you got for what you do, and believe me when I say they will pay for that !

You’re right an wrong at the same time. You could be the hardest working person and use the same bucket with dishsoap and the same scrub brush you let touch the ground when you’re leaning on it to take a break.

I started out as a mobile detailer in Vancouver. Hard to have one in a city that rains 8 months a year. But I was smart, I investigated my competitors, I bought a van that could hold 100 gallon water tank and a small generator Cause 8 out of the 14 companies I called said I needed to have a water spigot and out door plug handy. Did that for 3 years just bought my first 2 drive through bay. Would be 3 but the old timer turned the third into storage and office.

I don't have the most expensive equipment, but I am almost ready. I am only holding back until I get insurance and my LLC. I don't want to be paying out of pocket if I damage a car. Everyone in the youtube videos says "Just start now." None of them ever mention insurance.

Hey love the videos, Quick question.
My speedometer got spray on the plastic and looks like some one sneezed on it.
How do I remove it ?

Thanks again for your time.

You learn the most about yourself when you have the least. If you're able to make do with less you'll be able to achieve greater with more.

You should do a video on someone’s first day with very little experience going into a detailing job
