My first more studious exposure to the topic of economics was after joining my son in watching a documentary on Milton Friedman. After that exposure, I tried to gain more understanding. As a parent of Millennial sons much more knowledgeable on this topic, I needed all the help I could get. Being a moral philosopher by interest, this is a difficult stretch for me. This morning after my son gave me his economic counsel, he said he'd be willing to listen later today to this video and then explain it to me. I only add, that after listening to this discussion the words of King Solomon came to my mind: Ecc 7:29  "Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions."

Great stuff.
Basically what is happening is a group of insiders (shocking, I know) shuffling huge sums of capital around among each other and collecting fees. Instead of actually letting some of that money into the real economy, to grow business and do real stuff, like that creates actual value.
And it's only getting worse.
