Aka the true ultimate example of why the 616 heroes should be lucky that Reed was on the good side

Ultimate Reed Richards is the definition of the guy that hits the gym hard after a bad breakup.

I would have loved to have him face off against infamous iron Man (Doctor Doom) and have Dr Doom say something witty like, "I am a better hero than you Richards just as I was a better villain."

The Maker is the literal personification of the things Reed dislikes about himself and also of the argument that he and Victor are not so different. He is what happens when Reed decides to not hold back anymore and allows his devotion towards science and the greater good to lead him to a dark path.

Ah, The Maker, one of the rare occasions where a comic makes a major change and fans actually like the change.

The Maker is definitely one of the standouts for me as an Ultimate Comics reader. He's frankly a scarier Dr doom in the way he operates; and it'll be shame if the MCU doesn't use the concept when the get to making FF movies.

Probably the best villain Marvel has been able to come up with in a while.

I just think it's so cool how this version of Reed, who was just ment to be a modern incarnation of the classic in a new series, becomes a villian in the mainline comics. That is awesome

Having got back into wrestling, I noticed something about how comic books handle villains differently from how wrestling handles heels. I'd say villains like Maker, Doctor Doom, Vandall Savage, and others not specifically tied to a hero are what should be more or less the norm. Heels are their own entities in wrestling, and have their own stories. I think comic books should start doing more of this approach to its villains, and I feel that's what makes ones like the Maker so special. He's everyone's villain, a big threat, and his own character.

Totally agree the maker has earned his place as a multiversal villain here's hoping he'll continue to make fun and intense appearances over marvel's ongoing history!

If the MCU really wanted to get wild down the road, a double face-heel turn with Doom becoming Infamous Iron Man and Reed becoming The Maker would be insane to see.

You left out a rather significant plot point to this Reed's development: he was relentlessly bullied and abused by his father and peers. Given his lack of a stable, supportive upbringing, its small wonder he didn't simply whip up a world-consuming nanite infection or some other horrible creation sooner.

I loved the reveal of the maker. Ultimate Doctor Doom always seemed a bit limp, so turning reed into his real counterpart was a brilliant move.

There is a lot about The Maker that makes him such a cool villain. For me their are two examples I really like; First the creation of the Dome, The City and the Tommorow Children; a new species of hyper evolved humans that had formed their own unique society and were both intelligent and technologically advance enough that they wiped out Asgard and made him cautious to take measures that he won't be surpassed by his own creations which in his words was like "Being the most intelligent Neanderthal among modern man". Second the way he uses his powers in a way creepy compared to his other counterpart like how he forms multiple hands all around his body to work faster and stretching his face to see multiple angles when he operated on Iron man, basically the way he fights as The Maker was like that of a Symbiote all parts of his body would attack even his tongue.

I absolutely love the Maker. When his identity was revealed back in that old Ultimates run, I was genuinely shocked. An evil version of an extremely intelligent hero character can be terrifying. And I have to admit, evil Reed is probably a better villain than evil Batman (Batman who Laughs).

I’m glad Reed has been getting the recognition he deserves lately. The guy is an amazing hero but even better villain. No one made fun of “the guy who can stretch” anymore after this story.

Man I wish you could do these twice a week, they're amazing to catch up and recall past events on comics

The Maker should be a Miles villain or a fantastic four villain. He is highly unused and put in books that don’t make sense but is appreciated like Venom
