it reminds me of the times when my life was actually together

One of my absolute favorite things about this opening is how the colors end up getting more vivid each episode, as gradually, the world starts seeming bright and vibrant again, as Yuuri starts believing in himself and working towards his dream, and Viktor's love helps him to remember what he loved so much about ice skating - and the world - in the first place.

As someone who suffers from sometimes crippling anxiety the metaphor of it leeching the color from your world is so apt. It can make it so you loose focus on what makes your world beautiful, and you unconsciously put up blinders so you can only see the grey mass of your fear.
