Battlefield just surprised everyone...

I feel like this is somewhat of a “let’s test things with the community before our next game.” Situation.

Feels like the biggest thing missing from this game overall in terms of the immersion and atmosphere is that the maps just DONT feel or look like there is a literaly war going on, no on going fires and broken down buildings and stuff and limbs flying across.
I feel like those like intangibles were what made BF 1 so EXTREMELY immersive

IMO this event is also working as a sandbox for the next battlefield, we see : classes with their guns, each nation with specific skins, no sliding or sprinting and the colour is different also . Maybe they are trying to call the attention of the veterans or participate this wave of milsim like squad, tarkov and breakout ( I know it does not get near from the milsim of these games, but maybe an inspiration?)

It's so funny that recent Battlefield games seem to only make good updates once they are about to lose support. Obviously the few devs left are free to make the changes they want without being burdened by the executives and other higher ups.

The lighting is a huge improvement. It made the explosions look more awesome.

As much as I like hardcore mode, previous BFs didn't feel very complete or fleshed out. I would suggest like the minimap should still be active with spotting turned off because sometimes you end up running through places that are out of the bounds where you would logically think are traversable. Also ammo should at least show how many mags you have left as you would know irl if you just looked at your kit. Just some suggestions. I think BF1 and BFV had the perfect modes which were a bit hardcore.

If they can change lighting than most maps should have day/dusk/ night additions aswell atleast in the next battlefield.

This actually feels like a bf game tho.... the classes, sounds, lighting, no cringy cod movements.... idk guys, this feels like a community test for a future game and I'm satisfied lol

2042 needs more hardcore modes like in battlefield 3 and 4. Those hardcore modes felt amazing and made you play slower. No mini-maps, 2 shots and you death, you could actually play like a squad while trying to catch the sniper or infiltrating the enemies bases. Damn, i miss those days.

Coming back to BF2042 from BO6 is such a breath of fresh air.
Dunno but i feel this game have the better gameplay feel than newer CoD. Fast enough to react to gunshot and weighty enough to restrict erratic movement.
It just feels right.

Without complaining too much, but they should have made BF 2042 content like that from the very start. A lot of BF2042 is missing the atmosphere and creativity. Still very disappointing how they released an unfinished expensive game that even after improvements and new content, the game still after three years feels lifeless.
