Body in Barrel Connected to Killing of Pop Smoke: Report

Is the killing of rapper Pop Smoke related to the recent killing of a man whose body was found in a barrel in Malibu? TMZ is reporting that Javonnta Murphy’s brother, Jaquan, was one of five people arrested in the wake of the 2020 shooting death of Pop Smoke. While the report says Jaquan Murphy was cleared of being involved in the killing, investigators are looking into the possibility that Javonnta, 32, was killed in retaliation.
