This is like what happened to Scar. Scar and Facilier called them "Friends" before their "Friends" killed them looking them with a malicious smile.

I feel like this has a good chance to be the darkest "death" for any Disney villain. I say "death" in quotes because this man doesn't even get the act of dying as a middle man. Dude gets surrounded by demons and LITERALLY gets dragged directly down to hell kicking and screaming.

Y'know why i like this villain, this scene in particular? Because it implies an unknown truth to the audience: the price of power is multiple souls, and if you come up short you pay with your own. That's why it's framed as debt.

Things I love:
1. The fact the "Friends" show up near immediately shows they were constantly watching.
2. How terrifying it must be to have your own song turned against you.
3. The idea of being dragged to hell, or the Voodoo equivalent.
4. Tiana's genuine fear showing that she did not intend to kill him.


Def going to use this as inspiration for my own characters.

My God this scene scared me so much as a kid that I could never watch the movie again for a long time and after revisiting I absolutely see why. You can really see the pure fear and dread of Facilier throughout the entire sequence and the thought of being grabbed and pulled to your demise by an otherworldly being is terrifying. It doesn't help that we don't even know what actually happened to him in turn playing into the fear of the unknown. Possibly one of the most underrated villain defeats in these movies I never hear anyone talk about it. His own song even got used against him to rub salt in the wounds

What I love about Facilier’s “friends” (The Loa) as villains is how they fooled Facilier.

They always intended on betraying Facilier in the end and taking his soul for themselves. They had no loyalty to him. That is how spirits like them operate. They make deals with humans, wait for the inevitable slip up and then take what they wish from them.

Lesson? Dont mess with all powerful spirits unless you know *100%* what you’re doing.
