It's safe to say that one of the things people fear most is snakes. That fear comes from many different sources, but much of that fear can be alleviated through proper education. Knowing if the snake is a venomous or non-venomous species will alleviate a lot of anxiety instantly, and this knowledge can save snake lives, as many humans are quick to injury a snake for simply just existing, but they play an important role in keeping of animal populations in check.

Growing up in Georgia I know a copperhead when I see one haha. I swear there was a den of them in my grandmas front yard when I was growing up. They did a lockdown drill at school one time so that no teachers accidentally brought their kids outside when I was in middle school because a copper head was just casually strolling through our parking lot and they had to catch it. I have lived with in 15 minutes of Devil's Lake State park in Wi most of my life. Over the course of my life I have spent years (yes I have kept a journal since I was 6) out there. TO MANY PEOPLE SCREAM RATTLE SNAKE when they see a water snake. One of 3x I've seen a Rattlesnake in wi a guy was chasing one across south shore road thinking it was 4ft water snake. The snake coiled and bit him 3x before I could stop him....I didn't know to laugh or cry. He lived with a deformed calf

Lol he right tho my wife does a lot of taxidermy and folks bring us copperheads cotton mouths and rattlesnakes thinking they are one or the others lol
