Boris Johnson apologises for staff video

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has apologised for a video showing his staff joking about a lockdown Christmas party last year.

The Prime Minister said he shared people's anger and had ordered an inquiry into whether rules had been broken.

Public fury has mounted against the government over the secrecy surrounding the alleged gathering.

The staffer recorded in the video mocking the party has resigned.

Government adviser Allegra Stratton issued an apology to the British public outside her home.
