Hey man all your techniques are literally the complete opposite of traditional tattoo techniques but your work turns out amazing so I like that you're pushing the boundaries and using your own ideas as to tradition change is necessary

as a science nerd, this is just common sense if you’re looking at it from a scientifically correct/logical perspective. the lower the voltage, the slower the skin takes the ink and the longer you have to make sure it’s perfect, be more precise, and less ink bleeds from the machine. therefore, you’re able to see your outline easier for longer, and go slowly to ensure precision. this is why some people choose to go to stick-n-poke artists because you have to complete the tattoo with literal dots that are perfectly and strategically placed, and it can’t be done with a high voltage or fast moving machine. well done 👏🏻

hey "Q" i learned with single needle and a 5 stacked mag. using a home made coil machine 40 yrs ago oddly enough that rigged machine only had 1 speed and the only adjustment was dropping the tube. but those first pieces i did are still clean and solid. ask any guy who was locked down in the 70 and 80s and they all knew at least 1 artist that could put it down Like no body's biz. i mean top notch black and grey to rival what people are doing now.

This is only relevant with small pieces! Plus every artist finds their own way! If your hand movements are correct you don’t have to lower your voltage especially when it comes to shading!

what voltage/machine are you using here?

I’ve heard from other tattoo artists that going in on an angle 📐 makes those micro tattoos blowout.

I don’t think you should ever need a single. Can do just as small with a three or 5 depending on choice of coil or rotary!!

Anything against the industry standards i support.
They used to say it was impossible to tattoo color over black .
They didnt wanna believe it was possible because they didnt wanna try .
I now have a blackout sleeve and its gonna be my " blackground" for my colorful tattoos.

Lets say you have a 08/10 Bugpin 3 or 5RL with a machine with a 3mm stroke....what voltage would you recommend for soft lines/tight details...and would you up the voltage if you needed the tight details to be more crisp and defined?

I've been waiting a long time to get a tattoo and I'll be honest, I'm going to tattoo myself here soon and I'm soaking up as much advice as I can from all masters
