The only downside of F2P is it encourages Pay to Win, as they have to have something you can buy as extra content. Before you say, "oh well ___ doesn't do that." Many still do. Companies and developers still have to make money. Resources to make video games don't come out of thin air. So a developer making a very good project and then making you pay for it to try and make back that money is fair in my eyes.
