I think this boost pedal perfectly embodies the philosophy of "less is more". To the naked eye, you have just 1 volume knob. However, upon further inspection, you will learn that this pedal has many uses and functions. You got to love it!

I used to have this Morley volume plus that had a clickable “minimum volume”. So you could dial your amp up to boost/lead tone, then roll the volume pedal back all the way and instead of silence, you got whatever your min volume was set to, aka just less gain.

Why on Earth does Vertex not make a volume pedal with the boost inside of it?

Technically you don’t need a boost pedal or anything. Any buffered pedal into a volume pedal will adjust volume without losing tone. You can play a “maxed out” overdriven tube amp, at a whisper quiet room sound, without an attenuator this way.

It’s interesting to note that, while lauding the GE-7 as the “perfect boost pedal”, he still has a separate boost pedal on his board. Not being cynical, I am genuinely curious about this.
