Obama Backs Minimum Wage/Overtime for Home Care Workers

Many people are shocked to learn that home care workers have been denied the federal minimum wage and overtime protections that apply to almost all other American workers.

In this announcement, President Obama declares his support for a new DOL rule that would end this exclusion--commonly known as the companionship exemption.

Thank you, Mr. President for doing this. But the next step must be to raise the minimum wage! Obama, back in 2008 said he'd raise the minimum wage to $9.50 by the end of 2011!
