CHOPIN'S MOST BEAUTIFUL THEME | Sonata in B-flat Minor, Op. 35

preview_player
Показать описание
Taken from the first movement of his Sonata in B-flat Minor, Op. 35, this theme shows a contrast to the bel canto style of Chopin's nocturnes, and demonstrates his ability to create a wonderfully dense, homophonic texture.

Recorded at University Lutheran Church.

Chopin has a lot of great ones, everyone has there favorite and there is no best. I like the melody of the slow part to the octave etude, and of course, the Eb minor etude theme is gorgeous. I find most of the Chopin melodies I like are the secondary ones and not necessarily the main themes. It is all a matter of taste and opinion, I am just glad people are listening to Chopin!

Chopin is just fucking amazing period. I can’t think of any other composer that’s given me even close to as many goosebumps or even tears in total.

You should listen to 2nd theme in Chopin's Sonata in B minor Op.58. Absolutely beautiful😍😍

I recently heard Manny Ax talk about Horowitz’s interpretations of well-known Chopin pieces. As much as learned about Chopin’s compositional genus and deep knowledge of harmony and counterpoint, I am remind that the depth of genius is not to be exhausted. I’ve been a lover of Chopin’s 1st Ballad for over 50 years and I still have so much to hear for the first time. Now my search is for interpretations and performances that enrich my application of his genius. ❤️❤️❤️

The most beautiful melodies from Chopin for me are the middle section of the first ballade, the opening of the 4th ballade, nocturne op 9 no 3 main theme and the part before the cadenza and L’adieu honestly amazing all of these

Davvero bravissimo complimenti.

It is one of his hardest pieces to pull off, and one of the most difficult piano works ever written. I have heard over 30 versions of this piece by pianists from early 1900s all the way to young ones now (some winning the Warsaw competition), and no one ever plays it similarly. There is so much potential for immediate personal expression in just the first few bars. And this is rarely the case with other works of his, which have slowly fallen into a stale "play it like this and only like this" form of mimicry.

my favorite Chopin themes are are those contained in the concerto 1 op 11, the Ballade 4, the Barcarolle and the Berceuse, the central section of op 25 n 5! Even if the truth is I love everything Chopin...!

I have to say my favorite part of any chopin piece so far has been the middle of his 4th ballade when the first theme comes back and is written as an echo. So genius and it’s a beautiful sound.

I think Chopin is the first composer that "invests all' in the melody. Every embellishment, harmony and structure helps bring out the melody more. His style, in songs that are fast or slow, powerful or thoughtful, triumphal or melancholic, are always characterized by how the melody goes. For that i think we have to thank him for how much importance we give to melody to music nowadays (even in "monotonic" pop music melody still unveils everything else in accompaniment)

Ofc people also argue 'emotional' side of his music is what distinguishes him from other composers, or harmony, structure, texture, technique etc. But for me is this devotion to melody that imprints everything else like ideas and emotions in listeners and it's quite unprecedented I think.

"Debate" me tho if u got different idea.

When played slowly one can truly hear and appreciate the melody's and inner lines of this masterpiece.

I can hear you love it just by the way you're playing it 🤗 it's amazing, also at the reprise of the 1st movements, with some little changes

That is a beautiful choice. I also love the slow middle sections of the 1st and 4th scherzi.
