He's just a lineman for the county, and he drives the main road searching in the sun for another overload.

They do that to who they can. It's always some sort of Hazing but it is more severe the weaker your personality is in my opinion. I could be wrong. It really isn't for everyone. Stay safe out there.

Rough work, long hours, pretty good pay! You can make a lot more starting a business and be financially free and not have to work 60-80hrs a week. Sucks breaking your back everyday, to not be around your family for a paycheck. Trust me you can make a lot more doing other things. Lineman are just one of the higher paid trades, but I know people who work half as hard and make double as much.

Wait what does any of this have to do with linemen work, I'm seriously considering joining a linemen crew and I have a great opportunity to right now

Not sure about this short. Im just going to say it. The very moment a lineman or your lineman goes to work he might not come home permanently. That could be the result of his or his brother or combination of boths actions any second of any day. My question how will you react? Hey stop! That lines not dead!.... hey did you check voltage?...going HOT...no youre not got another crew working on this line...how would you react? Got a car accident, hit pole. 2 doa and another can still be saved...youre out there as the no. 1 second responder...feeder pole 1 phase makin glasss on the road by the car other 2 holding up by the grace of god the majority of a 60' pole right over top or the car. Not a pretty sight but you have to make a call...open the circuit find some air switches cut in some floaters or all of the above. Then figure out reactive switching, isolate and refeed because the jaws of life could take more than a minute or two. Then you have the crew...they may still have to get that pole off the car to make the scene safe...then isolation points are there still some customers out?... do they need to splice that phase wreck out that pole float the phases then return the circut back to normal? Change out the pole hot? Or got a few out lets knock this out de energized, go back with it and never look back? Or hey whys my power out??? Sorry squirrel got this one....hey sorry cant control mother nature lightnight smoked this the hardest hey sorry but ya need to pay your bill.

So when you have to climb a pole...oh thats hard....when your journeyman yells at you for putting the ratches in the wrong bin...or when you get 33+ rolls of 33+ tape wrapped around how do you react?

I sure hope the crying at the end is because either hes on storm work or on call hasnt been home long enough to shit and hasnt seen his wife and kids in a week/weeks... and just got off the phone with his daughter and she said i love you dad!!

Whatever!! I'm a foreman at a painting company and we've done work for maybe 8-10 guys that work for PG&E and they all make fat fucking bread!! One guy even said he makes 15k every 2 weeks...come on thats crazy goof ass money! BUT not for the faint of heart.. any company that is paying you 15k-30k$ a month..over 120k a year is going work you like a dog... finance...sales...trades stuff... pg&e..

Was he crying cause he got cut out of the apprenticeship.

Only thing that can make a lineman cry is a straight check. 😉
