Blue Sky Studios gives Scrat his beloved acorn in a farewell animation.
“In the final days of @BlueSkyStudios, a small team of artists came together to do one final shot. This shot is a farewell, a send-off on our own terms,” the captioned on twitter reveals.

Ever since the first Ice Age movie came out, I claimed it as one of my favourite movies I’ve ever watched. As the other 4 came out one by one, I became happier. However, back in 2021, I heard that Blue Sky Studios (the creators behind these movies) was shutting down. I became very upset and felt like there was something missing. Fast forward a few days before today, I was scrolling through Instagram and saw a headline that read “Scrat from ‘Ice Age’ finally eats his acorn’. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I watched the video that had subtitles with an explanation of how this was put together. The missing piece, in my life, has been found. Scrat got the ending he deserved ❤️

There's something wonderful about the uneventfulness, no hijinks, no interference, that just perfectly caps off the moment. Scrat's goal has been fulfilled, and now it's time to carry on....
