People actually said he was 'too visual'? Fuck off, it's a film, it's meant to look good which Blade Runner certainly does. I think it's one of the most gorgeous looking (and sounding) films ever made.

I literally love Ridley Scott when he talks about films. He’s so in love with making them he’s confident of his ability but never arrogant and I feel just tells you very simply about the small levels of trickery that make up a full length motion picture.

It's amazing how the effects and overall look of the film have stood the test of time. As good as anything produced right now.

Great editing WIRED... Putting a box over the his face when they discuss the glasses.

He is a pure genius. Blade Runner 2049 is the most beautiful movie I've ever seen.

Listening to Mr. Scott describe how they solved the challenge of putting that subtle light in the eyes of the replicant characters in the "pre-digital" era was just fascinating! and such a wonderfully subtle and effective end result. The tiniest of details that went into making this great, classic film.

Blade runner is a totally unique and brilliant movie.

Everything about it is world class.

They really don't make them like this anymore.

My own favourite scene is the meeting between Daryl Hannah and the guy with the ageing disease...

The way he gradually realised she was a killer, and her sensing his mounting fear as he tried to conceal it..

Brilliant.

Definitely one of my favorite scenes and I love that Vangelis used this scene to intro his song "Blush Response".

I enjoyed this video until the ridiculously oversized box appeared in the final 30 seconds showing which video was up next. How the hell do you turn this off?

Not even funny how Blade Runner makes every other movie look like boring trash.

Blade Runner is and has always been my all time favorite film, without question. But, I still love seeing videos like this that illuminate the tricks and clever ideas that made this film the cinematic masterpiece it is. No digital short cuts. No green screen. Only miniatures and practical effects and it still looks better than 99% of every film made since.

So glad he mentioned Hedy Lamarr as the inspiration for Rachel. Sean Young & Hedy Lamarr are SPECTACULAR. 😍

The first Blade Runner is the best science fiction movie ever made, period.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."
my favorite line of all time.

I love how Scott is always so forthcoming in interviews and videos like this...always gives so much detail...the technical talk he gives here about how they achieved the replicant-eyes effect is fantastic.
