Bad ass bike. Reminds me of my 78 I had many years ago. 4into1 kerker with the baffle removed. My neighbors loved me. Early in the morning I had to warm it up before going to work. Sounded like a howling werewolf on crack. ☺

I used to have a 1974 Z1 900, stock bore with everything done. Full vance amd hines, electronic ignition, 29mm smoothbore carbs with stacks, cams, drag bars, struts, dual tachs, wire wheels, cut seat just like this, custom black paint with ghost flames, barnet clutch, kickstart, it was just like this beast but black and it had original numbers and all.. it got stolen one day out of my driveway overnight. It got loaded on a trailor because you could hear it start miles away... i miss that bike :(

Hey Jim! I am finally starting my Resto on my 77 KZ Dude! I am Stoked!...btw do you remember around what grit paper you used to sand the rough cast on yours? I am yankin' the Mikuni's off and sanding all the rough cast first. Got the tank, sides, and plastics sanding, sanding! VERY tastefully done. I especially like the fitted chin fairing and the moulded tail near the shock boss'. The rear axle adjusters freak me out though. I'm sure they work, but not quite as refined as the rest of the bike. SWEET just the same.

@MrScrubba56 Not sure what the tailight is from i bought it at a cycle salvage.The seat is off a 89ninja 900. I trimmed down the front to fit the tank, made some brackets to mount it, and widened the tailfin to match the seat.
