Bought a pair of redwings that were “waterproof”, and not the case.

Its nice to see some of these "modern style" / more budget friendly boots getting the Rose Anvil treatment. These are the kinds of boots that get recommended by workwear sales staff.

Bigest difference between composit and steel toe is that once You get crushed in a steel toe it stays crushed with the fingers inside. And the composit toe springs back and is easier to remove the foot. Here in Norway in many building sites we are forbiden to wear steal toe boots for this reason and the foreman in the morning will check the shoes with a magnet.

Don’t let the carbon toe cutting easily fool you, a layer of carbon that thick will be EXTREMELY impact resistant. There’s no way that is breaking easily. Not only that but carbon composite has the ability to flex, where a steel toe won’t.

Why don't you do army boots from around the world (armed forces Friday)👍🏻

The main argument for me to buy boots in this category: My employer allows me to expense an annual pair of safety toe shoes & the maximum reimbursement benefit is $165.

These kinds of boots are very nice for a "casual" worker, or just as "drinking boots". And with that kind of use, they last for years, unlike similar style hiking shoes, which have soles so soft that they wear out in a year. Toe caps, heel caps and puncture resistant soles are also good. Best of all, when these boot hit clearance sales at the end of the season, they can be had for a quarter (or even less) of their original price!

I am on my 3rd pair of Ariat Endeavour and love them. They have actually lasted me the longest of all the boots that I have worn working in a railyard for nearly 30 years. Walking in ballast just shreds the soles of most boots, my Timberlands lasted 2 months in the ballast before the soles ground down, but Ariat lasted nearly 2 years on all 3 pairs I have worn. Climbing on the railcars takes a toll as well. That cushioned sole of the Ariat has been the most comfortable I have worn yet. Breathable in the heat, have worked in temps in over 118° in summer, kept my feet from roasting. Waterproof is one of the great features of the Ariat Endeavour as it rains a lot here and kept my feet bone dry. Ariat really makes a quality product.

Bought these recently after watching your review. Pair them with a nice hiking darn tough sock and my feet are happy as hell. Thank you.

I'd be interested in a hiking boots series! 👍

Oh! Hope to see some other noteworthy brands in this segment as well, like Keen and Timberland Pro!

You should do a video on the Nike adapt auto lacing shoes. I’m curious about all the components they need inside those shoes to make them work

Would you ever consider doing a series on popular tactical boots? It would be helpful to a lot of first responders and military members.

Those look like they'd make decent hikers, too. I like the shank placement for load-bearing use, too.

Damn you, Weston. All of these are 10+ minutes long and I used to think "Oh well I can just skip the fluff parts" - but there isn't any. How do you make 10+ minute videos that are basically 100% valuable content?

I would score the cut in the mid eights. Maybe an 8.6, but you're the expert. Great video as always.

Great video. Love seeing you do the more economical under $200 work boots. I would love to see you do some $250 and under hiking boots too. Keep it up.

The heel clip might be for stability because the midsole is EVA foam.
