IDEAS Community #10 – The Sharing Economy & Analytics

The May IDEAS meet-up was held on 15 May 2015. The theme for the meet-up was The Sharing Economy & Analytics, and featured presenters from Uber, Crowdonomic Media, RocketUncle and AirBnb. The speakers shared how Data Sciences and Analytics, when coupled with crowdsourcing, is able to tap on existing resources to provide transport, funding, logistics and accommodation services to the economy. Data Analytics has helped transportation and infrastructure planning, acted as an alternative funding source for start-ups, enabled more efficient logistics delivery and allowed travellers to have more personalised and safer accommodation globally.

IDEAS with IDA and SCS is an informal meet-up & networking session that is co-organised by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Singapore Computer Society (SCS) Business Analytics chapter. The meet-up aims to energise the development of new ideas and product innovations for Big Data, Analytics and Data Sciences. Target audience includes tech developers, technopreneurs, analytics professionals, data scientists, business end users, investors, students, academics.
