Like the porridge in the middle to Goldilocks, this video was just right. It was simple but not simplified. It gave me all the information I needed but didn't exhaust me having to sort out a flood of details. I love the commentary on the bottom and I liked how the back-and-forth comparisons were done. I wasn't put through the obligatory 'history of the pedal maker' at the beginning nor tempted to fast forward through monologues and nonsense. After watching this video I felt like I didn't need to watch any more during my search to see whether or not I was going to buy the Bad Stone. Also, the guitar playing was right for demonstrating the pedal and not overindulgent noodling.

Thanks for a great comparison, I really like that you went back and forth so many times to really show their differences.

0/10 you didn't turn them all on at once

Great video man, you made it really easy to hear the difference by playing such a simple phrase. I also liked that you didn't talk, the subtitles allowed you to communicate with us without interrupting the sound demo. Champion effort!

I’ve been trying out the MXR Phase 95, which has the Phase 90 sound, plus the Phase 45 sound (more subtle) and a “script” button ~ allows for quite a lot more flexibility than the Phase 90! I quite like it. But I am tempted to try the Small Stone, as I would you prefer a pedal without the volume boost. But it’ll depend ultimately on tone – I’m willing to live with a small volume boost if I like the tone better...

Oh, and I too would have loved to have seen this demo with the speed on quite slower – those faster speeds make me a little seasick... 😂

Good comparison. Only thing is you didn't show the manual mode of the Bad Stone, which in my opinion is its coolest feature. It can give you some cool parked wah sounds.

I would probably take them all, because I like the phase sound at different rates and placements. Yes, 4 aught to do it.

EHX pedals seemed more psychedelic which i dig, but all good

Bro, just getting back into guitar based music, used to play bass, never guitar, playing guitar now, so doing some research on some pedals. There are endless videos of pedals, but this right here was the most illuminating of ANY of them. Seriously. There are serious pedal channels that don't even come close to the simplicity and straightforwarness of this vid. Thanks for this. This is the first vid of yours, I hope you haven't stopped making videos. And if you have, get back on it and crank some vids! Also 720p would be nice. HERO

Very nice comparison. I prefer the sound of the MXR to the EHX.

Just picked up a Bad stone for $45 USD (60 CDN) I had the original and it sounds super close. Love the flexibility and manual control

This really helped me make the decision to not go for the orange ones. Thanks a lot!

Would have been nice to see some examples where the speed wasn’t dimed.

Wonder if that toggle switch on the Mooer is a stage 2/4 one, or just some sort of filter. Seems that affordable 2 stage phasers are hard to find :D

Thanks for the video. I preferred the Small Stone. It seems to knead less.

And the V1 and V3 Russian full size Small Stones have more depth and phasing that all of the modern pedals, but for a vintage price now. If you've heard the BiPhase pedals from Mutron, they are in that category.

I have the Mxr Phase 90 script w/ led. It's a little noisy and boost the signal too, but I love it. Sounds very warm and subtle.

Nice video man! I have a lot of EHX pedals and the Stones have a similar tone to other EHX things I already own so I think I will go with the MXR to have a different color completely on my board to choose from. ;-

the mooer was distorting your signal as well

You can do a quick, easy mod to the MXR that takes away the volume bump. Just clip off a resistor, I think it's C-22 or something. There's tutorials online. Takes 5 min. Best phasor for the $
