Hello Alone. I have followed your videos for a while now. Great progress on your cabin. I am now 78, a women living alone since my thirty’s, raised three girls on my own. Renovated so many places and build houses. My last project was converting a high top van into a camper just a few years ago. Had one really good year and made two road trips from Ontario to California and Newfoundlandland all in the same year. Coast to coast in a year. I also heated with wood for over thirty years. So trust me I can very much relate to almost everything you do. All I can say is good on you and thank you for so many lovely videos

Great to see your video
You will need a splitting maul and a good single blade axe and a couple wedges
for those tough rounds....A great Chainsaw is a Husquavarna with an extra chain
and files to sharpen the blades....
and a round to set the wood on to split.
I do hope you put the 12 inch insulation back in your main floor
Reflectix insulation is BUNKO...all it is is quarter inch bubble wrap
I used it in my house in 1997 and its garbage and prevents the walls from breathing
and will trap moisture and create tons of mold which explains 3 mystery illnesses i had.
Youre an awesome Gal and I am happy that youve survived and all the things youve done with your log house.

Hello I came across your site and was instantly hooked. I live alone in a cabin, heat with wood, keep chickens etc in the Piney Woods of N. Michigan. Couple questions 1) have you ever had a medical emergency and what did you do? 2) are there any start up costs to be on utube?
Thank you for your honesty and a real look at what your lifestyle is like. Hardwork, self motivation, comfortable being alone and much more. It's clear you are up to the task, I admire your constitution.

There’s vinyl floor strips that are used in many of the new houses now in the lower 48. It’s easier to install and strips can be replaced easily.
