When you do your testing, how many copies of the source file are you playing from and what are they hosted on? If you haven't I'd suggest hosting the file for streaming from your RAMDISK. I'm wondering whether you are bottlenecked at a data level?

Now I'm curious, how does the P2000 compare to the RTX4000 in folding and other tasks while transcoding a couple streams? ex is the 4000 ever worth paying 2 to 3 times as much?

Idk how I wound up here, but I will make note of a few things. The first being kinda moot for "those people", but the generational difference in NVENC chip does provide a better quality picture but again a bit moot for those that default their viewing to SD. The second being, outside of the 4k streams hogging the card resources, each audio stream should have it's own transcode container which will hog CPU. When trying to find max concurrent streams for 1080p you were probably bottlenecked by audio stream transcoding on the CPU. With a P4000 I find my concurrent stream limit always sits on maxing out my CPU rather than what the GPU is capable of because of people running TVs instead of being able to use DTS-MA or TrueHD/ATMOS. For those with a lot of users or large libraries, splitting the content isn't the best solution in long term cost. Especially now that Chia is a thing.

I love my 1050 Ti in my server, doesn't require any additional power, and the most I have transcoding is 4-5 streams at once, most of the time only 2 or 3, works perfectly fine

-A normal video card would be a waste in my opinion because having the extra space for other add in cards means more to me than a gaming card, I know you can "hack NVIDIA Drivers" for more NVENC, but that's silly for something that I want stability on.
-RTX cores provide better quality over non-RTX cores, does anyone who just uses Plex for just family actually do more than maybe 10 transcodes at a time anyway?
-Just my idea's call me stupid if you want, but it does everything I want.

been running my gtx 1660 6gb for over a year with plex and no issues with it. I don't update drivers on my plex server why would I?

why can't I get my music to start back where it stopped? for example, I have some audiobooks on my plex and if I start listening to a book and pause to check out something else when I go back to continue listening to the book it starts over from the beginning please help.
