Practical Cubase Guide Ep.04 - Metadata Tracks

In this series I show you how I use Cubase on a day-to-day basis - the practical stuff that gets you writing music with the minimum of fuss!

In Episode 04 I talk about all the tracks that DON'T contain music - stuff like Tempo, Time Signature, Marker Tracks, and more. Plus, I show you a nifty way to separate all these extra tracks from your actual music.

My name is Anthony Chisnall. I'm a musician and a songwriter. I've created this channel - One Man and His Songs - in order to share with you everything I learn as I strive to improve my songwriting skills. I can see the benefits of setting up a template. Separate busses for each track also makes sense. I tried to replicate your metadata track template. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't generate two marker tracks (bookmark and harmonic info). Turns out my Artist version only has one marker track, whilst the Pro version has ten. An upgrade beckons. Cheers.

I like your template and would like to setup exactly as yours, including colour coding. You’ll get a good overview and it’s organised and clean.

About markers 1 and 2. Num-Keyboard 1 and 2 are by default assigned to Goto Left Locator and Goto Right Locator. Did you change that in your setup?

What about other metadata - song title, copyright ...?
