Everyone is supposedly “lazy” and “doesn’t want to work anymore” yet whenever I see videos of self sufficient living, a pretty labor intensive lifestyle, everyone in the comments is saying they’re jealous and they wish they could live that way.

It’s not that people are lazy nowadays, it’s that the work we do in most jobs is meaningless. The employers get the fruits of our labor while we get the same hourly pay regardless of how hard we work.

With self sufficient living, even though you might be working just as much or more than you would if you just got a 9-5, you get the benefits of your own labor and the amount you benefit is directly proportional to how much effort you put into it.

I live a very simple life in the jungle by the sea in Mexico. No cars here. No hot water. Two basic rooms. Hiking everything in, carrying all my trash out. Quiet. Simple. The jungle all around. The sound of the waves from the ocean. It isn't for everyone, and it's wonderful when it's a fit.

We do the same way. Up in the hills of TN. We haven't had a water or electric bill going on 9 years now. It's more simple then people think. I love it. It's like stepping back in time. Forget society. Live free!!!!

My dad left me 3.5 acres of land with a small home on it. It's been his living for over 40yrs and now it's mine.
Property taxes once a year. (I do have
Electric bill but not a necessity, entirely) Everything else is bought & paid for!
I retired at 58 and living the dream.
The Lord has truly blessed. ❤️‍🔥

I bought a piece of rural property with some acreage on top of mountain many years ago.
9 miles up from the last paved maintained road and 4 miles from the last telephone poll.
I bulldozed in a 500’ driveway and capped it with 3/4 stone.
Built a nice cabin with wood burning stove.
I hunt and harvest a few whitetail every season which feeds my family clean organic lean protein throughout the year.
At the bottom of my mountain is one of the best trout streams in the state.
It was the best thing I ever did.
Wouldn’t have it any other way.

Wanna know what is the COOLEST part of this guys video ??? Is that he can totally live self sustaining!!! A lot of people throw a fit without their phones for five minutes talk about build a fire from scratch !! I hated it at the time but so thankful now that I was taught some life changing skills ! I could use more !!!

Hey guy, I love it. Just one thing that stove you have is a wood guzzler. If you haven't already done it, try putting that insulation stuff around the door and the burners on top. I have two of those stoves and it helps me save quite a bit. Stay grounded brother. God bless you.
