I wish YouTube stopped being dumb and dropped flash. HTML5 only has 360p and 720p. They need to fucking fix that.

C++ code is never directly executed like HTML is, so it's kind of a bad example to give, C++ needs to be compiled first, though once compiled it usually doesn't need to be compiled again.
HTML in comparison is run directly without being compiled, so in a way comparing HTML to C++ may have been a semi poor choice. Then again non-programmers may not have heard of anything other than C++, so I guess there's that...
