I feel like if you're laying miles of farming fence, you're not going to cement them but instead use a tractor to push spare lumber into the ground.

“Well yeah there’s no cement” why the hell would you use cement per post every 10 yards surrounding a massive field

He's definitely fork lift certified.

I think im more impressed at the fact he didn't need to get out of the machine to pull those posts and even if it was cemented in i doubt he would have to get out

Cattle lean on the barbwire when foraging for grass. Using exclusively t-posts will allow the fence to slowly fall over. Mixing in wood posts keeps the fence standing upright. Some people do every other post wood and some do 3 or 4 t-posts then a wood post.

Been installing fences for 4 years now. This is how we do tear outs.

You don’t put concrete in farm or ranch fences. It causes your posts to rot out faster because it traps moisture. I can set a 4”x4” 3’ deep just using a 16lb fencing bar to compact the dirt in lifts and it will be just as strong if not stronger than a post set with concrete.

thats the basics of how you change the pipes on an oil rig.

A gadget my great-grandfather designed would have done the job on foot in half an hour. Basically just three pieces of angle iron:
~ the stand - about three feet long with a circular base plate around six inches in diameter
~ the grip - about two feet long; one foot straight, dogs over four inches, goes another foot, then dogs back eight inches; small triangular braces welded inside each dogleg
~ the puller - about seven feet long; straight end of the grip bolted to one end, and the top of the stand bolted about twenty inches from the same end

Set the bottom of the stand about six inches from the base of the post, slip the bent part of the grip around the post and let it slide down as far as it will go, then pull down on the end of the puller. The edge of the angle iron cinches into wooden posts or grabs under the notches of the t-post - little six-year-old me could pull most posts with that thing.

Beats the hell outta getting in and out all the time if your by yourself. Dudes productive being by himself. If he had another man it would b slow.

It's funny is driving wooden posts and running wire between them is the very common method for doing fences out here and I keep threatening them to pull all the loose posts and stick them in samantha

That's actually pretty cool, i can see it working in flat country like they have in there Midwest. Not so sure about out West here with all our mesas and mountains.

That's a typical livestock fence.

Its probably a temporary fence designed for easy removal so he can move it around easily

It took me 3 days to take out 200yds of 2x4 posts becuase each one had a bag of concrete at the base.

Was on a shorline, water table was super high, you'd think it would help but it didn't.

Sucked 😂

It would be stupid to cement a farm fence

The point of the video was how he was grabbing each post with a chain and no special equipment

That first fence post is older then you. No kidding it’s not in concrete. Dead giveaway you’ve never worked on a farm before

Dude's only familiar with his 20k fences surrounding a half acre I guess. Concrete on a pasture post 😂
