That blond whi says train your children to sit & stay obviously has no children. If it were a matter of sitting still then no you wouldn't need a leash or tether. Their used for your child's protection from getting lost or stolen or while in crowded areas. Also it's like having an extra hand to hold your child's while you are multitasking. It really is for safety not cruelty.
