I am 71 living in the US. I saw the movie as a child, and yes, it was a big hit that shone a lot of attention on Rome. Roman Holiday was even bigger. I'm sure it made many Americans want to go to Rome to see that beautiful city.

When I was in Rome I threw a coin in the fountain never thinking I'd ever be back. Two years later I did come back, so maybe the coin toss superstition really is true. It was for me. Great video and you explained everything very well.
