WHY I LEFT MY 6 FIGURE CORPORATE JOB WITH NO BACKUP PLAN: The top warning signs I needed to walkaway

When I quit my corporate job, I was scared. I had no backup plan and no idea what I wanted to do next. I thought I had everything in place to start my engineering career at a big tech company after college, until I reevaluated my priorities. That's when I decided to leave my 6 figure job offer behind.

Leaving my corporate job wasn't an overnight decision. It took years of trying different things to confirm my suspicions that corporate life wasn't for me. Despite the signs, I was scared of being seen as a quitter, but I knew I wasn't happy either. I didn't want to waste anymore time. And that's why I left my corporate job.

So if you're currently stuck in a job you hate, or find yourself asking, "should I quit my job", then make sure to watch this video to see the warning signs that ultimately led me to walking away from a potential 9 to 5. I can resonate with everything you said. I’ve been in 9-5 job for 5 years but can’t take it anymore. This is really not for me. I admire your courage!! Thank you for sharing 🧡

I really felt it when you said you don't wanna be seen as a quitter or ungrateful. I got a job in a company that's pretty hard to get into, the interviews were soo technical. Many people want to get in because of the prestige of the company and the salary. But I just can't see myself doing this long term.

Amazing. Thanks for the insight. I'm also in software. Been at it for several years but even so, have always been pulled into a different direction while being a software dev. My passion is music and it's what I want to do when I am ready to walk away from software.

I've been working for someone else from a mom & pop size business to a global brand for the past 17 years both retail and corporate space and I found no fulfillment no matter where I went. Some people will say "well you might be the problem, " "your in the wrong career, " and there might be some truth to it which I explored and I came away from this its hard for many people to see purpose and value in what they produce in a corporate environment inside of a cubicle; whereas when you provide value to others as an entrepreneur its more direct, immediate, transparent and you develop a mindset to start seeing opportunities in ways its hard to evoke in a corporate environment. I found more joy from my business than the combine years working for someone else because I believe and feel I'm leaving the world in a better place than trying to rationalize how I could have done that in a corporate environment inside some cubicle and playing office politics, which statistically 84% of workers in America are unhappy with their jobs; misery begets misery.

This is amazing!! Girl, for you to leave that stable income is such a big risk! I totally felt the part where you said you invested time and money into a field and then to leave it! Your happiness does matter, we are so young, we can figure out our lives and in the end, if we think that "maybe I do like working for a company", we can always get a job again! Wishing you the best!

Lol I'm an engineer at a defense company. I've been doing it for 8 years. I have had love and hate moments. I just want to quit and be a sheep farmer. I have been working with a farmer friend for 5 years now working with his sheep and learning to care for them on weekends. But the problem is I have a HORRIBLE chronic illness that will require multiple surgeries until I have menopause. It's agonizing pain without my medication. I think the stress of work at times does it to me. But there is no cure for my illness. I love farm animals, growing vegetables and hard work even if that means shoveling shit. I'm 32. My boyfriend just turned 33. I make $83.5k & he makes barely $25k a year. There is NO way we will ever be able to retire this young and live the dream we want. We've tried almost everything to save and invest and we're still broke as fuck. All my money goes to paying bills and paying for my medicine and treatments. There are days when I think about killing myself. There's no hope left for my life, it feels like, at times. My boyfriend and maybe a coworker or two are the only things keeping me going on like this. Your story inspired me but there is just no feasible way to get there for some one like me who can't even afford doctor appointments and medication. I'm pinching every penny. I have three side hustles. It's just fucking impossible. It feels like I'm bleeding money constantly just struggling to survive. I had to apply for federal aid today just to pay my internet bills to stay working. The govt considers my salary "poverty." Pretty fucked up when an engineer's salary is considered povety. But here we are.
