It truly boggles my mind why none of the main actors in this show ever won an Emmy. The ensemble cast of this show was absolutely amazing. The writing was second to none. It deserved a far greater audience than it got. I really hope the planned Sam Esmail continuation planned for Peacock streaming can carry the ball.

It would have been so easy for them to do that stereotypical 'everyone moves to the volunteer side of the deck' move that so many other movies and shows use. Instead, they did something more believable and nuanced by actually having some people say "No, I'm not volunteering for this suicide mission, sorry" and go to the other side of the deck.

Much as I love a sappy 'We're all in this together' moment, it's scenes like this that really help BSG stand apart from the crowd.

Really liked the fact that Sherman wanted to join the admiral, but was pulled back aside.

RIP Donnnely Rhodes, better known as Doc Cottle. Heard that he passed away just recently.

For me the best part was how most of the pilots and Marines volunteered. Shows how loyal they were to Adama.

Watching Pres. Roslin's strong will while her body was failing her nearly killed me, having a family member struggle with the same thing. What an amazing character in a show full of amazing characters.

Touching how Doc Cottle was ready to volunteer, but Adama told him we’re can’t afford to lose a Doctor!

You can practically feel the power and gravitas just flowing out of Olmos' performance here.

It's a little thing, but I love that whole group of Marines crossing over at the same time. Not all of them go, but I'd bet most would. No man left behind.

"We cant afford to lose a doctor"
a few episodes later:
"Let's get rid of all our techology!"

I love the fact that Six and Gaius went with Adama. Gaius had an amazing character development and he evolved to be a brave man in the end.

Shame you missed the moment when Baltar crossed the line. It redeemed his character.

It's particularly poignant scene when you remember that most of those volunteers didn't make it. I assumed everyone else was packed onto crowded freighters? What about all the civilians on board?

Lt. Hoshi volunteered but gets left behind as "acting admiral" of the fleet.

I broke down like a 5 year old that scraped a knee when she came out stumbling and trembling with weakness to cross the line. 😭

I would follow. Regardless of the consequence. So say we all!

Lee Adama the most moral character on the show, first to cross the line and volunteer. APOLLO

Just a thought here - as the Bucket and the Beast crews were merged at this point, then apart from a handful of non essential crew and those that did not wish to go, it is entirely possible that Galactica went into this battle fully manned
