I don’t understand, given that the play has historical significance, what was necessary to change in the script because it wouldn’t be acceptable to modern audiences? I’d like to hear about that and why the play is being altered. If it’s a play of its time, I’d rather see it presented in its original form. Censorship, self-imposed or not, is the antithesis to the arts and shouldn’t be accommodated.
