On a budget (<700$), do you see the X elite being a viable option for laptops designed for business casual work?

I want to get a laptop for uni later this year, and I mostly depend on some not so mainstream apps that I do not see getting optimized for ARM soon. As such, I wonder if emulation will be good enough to sway me away from my plan to get a thinkpad. I know most laptops opting for this chip won't have the hardware to compete with thinkpad robustness, but that is a negotiable.
What is non-negotiable for me is that it has to be lightweight and good battery life. Something that seems up the sleeves of the X-elite. What are your thoughts?

Hey matt, we would love to see some less intensive titles like valorant and overwatch to be played on this laptop instead of like cyberpunk or control because htose games are just too much to handle for the machine.

Please compare the battery life with respect to MacBook Air 15 M3. Compare the battery life with respect to office work, watching some videos, and occasionally doing some heavy workload.
And please compare all the performance using battery, ad not on plugged in, as it's a laptop, and not everywhere we'll get a socket to plug in.
