I really appreciate that you told us about the lesser known person (to many of us) that was Trotsky's executioner. Who he was, where from, how he became an NKVD agent, the lengths and years he dedicated to his mission. I'm so glad that everyone requested this! The most I knew of this story was to vaguely recognize the name Trotsky in relation to communism. Very interesting, when an ad popped up as you were describing the assassination, I said "oh no!" out loud. Needed to hurry up and find out what happened last century, haha👍

I got snagged when I heard the name of the director Vittorio De Sica, but then it turned out to be an all-out gathering of historical figures doing what they did to become famous! I had always heard that Trotsky was killed with an ice pick and imagined it to be the kind with a long nail with a small round wooden handle at the end.

A non sequitor but it just struck me as weird to think that my grandfather was 11 years old when Leon Troksky was born. He died in 1955 when i was a year old. Wish i could have heard his stories firsthand, he was greatly loved & admired.
