If you do decide to purchase the game here's a detailed review of the DLC options to give you even more Frostpunk.

Even when not playing Frostpunk I'm constantly thinking "I should have done this" or "I'm going to try that next time", all with the soundtrack at the back of my mind. A genuinely awesome (harrowing!) experience I recommend you try.

One of the greatest OST's ever made. Not some 4 hour ambient dump, a true modern classical composition.
One of the greatest tutorials as well. You're never lost. Your decisions are transparent and easy to understand.
Allocation choices always make sense. I think it's one of the best advancements in UI's in a long time.
There are so many games I can't be bothered playing because their UI is so bad.
You can pick this game up any time and drop 20-80 hours easily. I imagine I'll continue doing so for years to come unless FP2 blows it out of the water.

In my opinion Frostpunk is in the top 10 games of all time for its world building and storytelling mixed with simple yet complex gameplay with just enough variety to keep you engaged forever.

I first loved this game. But damn how frustrating it can be when you think you’ve got it all under control. But then suddenly one thing starts to fail and pulls everyone and everything with it down 😂😅

Amazing game. I`m usually not a fan of city-builders or survivors. But this is so much more than any genre game. It`s a whole experience. Also makes you wanna come back and beat it on all difficulties. Which at first seems clearly impossible as you struggle through your first campaigns.

The answer is always YES when it comes to FrostPunk. They perfectly captured the feeling of desperation, grime, and despair not only with the graphics, but also with the soundtrack. The DLC that added building the generator in Endless mode, and The Last Autumn scenario was the cherry on top of an already perfect game. If FrostPunk 2 somehow fails, it won’t really matter, because this one is perfect.

I hope Frostpunk 2 will introduce a campaign that combines all of Frostpunk and its addons into one. Like building the generator and steam cores, founding the city, trading with other, maybe even some conflicts for resources with other settlements. Can't wait.

I remember watching it when it first came out and just the music alone sold me. The final soundtrack when the "final boss" appears just blew me away. Ive never heard a soundtrack i love more then this one.

Hey - When I loaded up youtube to search for a review of FP I was expecting to have to sit through multiple half-enthusiastic corporate feeling IGN reports to only half get an idea of what this game is actually like. I am so, so grateful to have found your content instead. You absolutely smashed what a balanced and in-depth review should be and thanks to this video I'll absolutely be picking up this game. In the future, I'll always check to see if you've put out a video on the game I'm looking into next. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this!

I like your review format, I've been on the fence for this game quite a fair while now and was unwilling to take the blind leap predominately due to the standard price for the GOTY edition. Now with the sale on steam, I figured I'd look into this game a bit more to ensure I'd not regret jumping in completely blind to the rudimentary mechanics and to confirm my suspicions about whether this game intrigues me enough to sink some spare hours into it when I have them. This is precisely what I was looking for in terms of an unbiased, quick, yet adequately detailed explanation of the game-play experience as a whole. Spectacular work, look forward to seeing more content from you in time. Thanks for the well-rounded review, I'm sure your channel will soon gain popularity to equate to the high level of content you're producing, wishing you all the best my friend.

Thank you dude. I love your reviews. Very informative, comprehensive and descriptive. I used to play strategy games only. But gave up on them once I struggled finding equally good ones. My fav were: cc generals; sims, theater of war; world in conflict; cities skyline and age of mythology. I will sub and keep an eye on reviews on these type of games.

Is it worth it ? Yes! If you are a masochist :-P All jokes aside, i have yet to find a city building game that keeps me coming back to it just to master it. At first glance, the game seems simple, but there is so much to it, so much micro managment to do, law combining (especially at higher diffs). I love it, it requires genuine forward thinking and planning.

Easily one of the best experiences I have ever had. Normally I turn my nose up at unrelenting and unreasonable punishing games, but Frostpunk is made so beautifully, simply and with so much depth that it drew me in and kept me there.

Haven't watched video yet, but wanted to say: yes it definitely is worth it! I've owned this game since shortly after it first launched and I'm again playing a scenario and loving it! This game has so much replay value! One of the most fun games ever! Just make sure to keep an eye on the time when you play, as a whole night can fly by without you realising, as this game keeps you on the edge of your seat non-stop!

Solid review thanks. I appreciate that you didn't over-edit the video, or over-scripted the review.

One of my biggest gripes with This War of Mine (the studio's previous game) was that there was very little variance between playthroughs. Once you learned the basic trick to survival, that strategy worked every time regardless of characters or settings.

Does this game feel like that too? Or does it feel like depending on the rng, you have to do very different things to survive? I personally like it when one strategy can't solve the game.

Thank you for this very detailed and well constructed review!

Frostpunk is a city building survival game with a compelling story. You really feel the pressure and frustration as the world gets colder. Highly reccomend it. The only downside is you wont feel like replaying it once the campaign is over.
