Sure won't try a chess set first turn project. However, I still learned a bunch from his CONSTANT attention to detail. I've often said to someone training me, coach me up, put me inside your head. Thanks!

I bought some tools years ago at a flea market and thought they were just chisels! I just go a lathe for my birthday and it's great fun! I was able to figure out my gouge, but now, thanks to you I know that I have a Skew and a parting tool! Great video! Thanks!

Thank you. My kids are growing up and I have time to find a hobby now that I'm getting older. I took shop in high school and really enjoyed the wood working parts but that was 35 years ago 😬. I've been whittling comfort birds and want to try something different so I'm thinking about trying to make some bowls. Your video was useful for letting me know what to expect.

This is probably the best woodturning video I've seen, and I've been watching a lot of them! I now know a lot more about each tool and what they do. Well done.

I have been watching many vids for the lathe. This is probably one of the best ones I have found that actually talks about how to actually start with, including the tool rest. Great vid, hope you make many more. I am a beginner for the lathe. Great vid.

Hi there - new to wood turning and currently restoring my grandfather's lathe. It's the exact same lathe as this, question... Looking through the manual, what is the plunger for and how do you remove it? (Gotta clean the rust off it). Thanks and greath vid :)

I just got given a lathe exactly like the one in this video. Can anyone shed some loght on the manufacturer, and whether there are still parts for it?

This was really informative but no one has really taken the time to actually show the wood getting mounted on the lathe. I know you spoke about cutting the X in the wood but what about the tail stock. Does that actually remain stationary throughout the entire turning process? You added oil onto it but is that so the wood doesn't burn? Do I find center with the X and pound that in then slide the tail stock back into position and tighten it? Thanks for sharing all this great Jody G
